Thorp previously worked at the Savannah College of Art and Design as a professor and as design coordinator for the school of foundation studies. Before that, he lived and worked for a decade as an exhibiting artist.

Wow, he thought: Empty storefronts usually mean cheap rent; artists always look for cheap rent. What a great opportunity there is in Augusta to grow the arts and culture downtown!

An interactive exhibit on the art of Vincent Van Gogh is coming to Augusta this month, and an expert says the immersive show and others like it promise to being art to a whole new audience. 鈥淏eyond Van Gogh 鈥 The Immersive Experience鈥 has wowed millions of art lovers interested in the famous Dutch painter since it began touring in 2017. t Scott Thorp, chair of the 黑料正能量 Pamplin College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences Department of Art and Design, offered an expert鈥檚 perspective before the exhibit opens locally. 鈥淚 believe these types of exhibitions exceed expectations because they are so stimulating. They include a new type of interactive media that entirely surrounds the viewer. You are more of a participant than a viewer in these situations,鈥 Thorp said.

Georgia is a hub for animation in the film and entertainment industry, which is why the animation program at 黑料正能量 has grown exponentially. It started off small but now has more than 100 students. Now, 黑料正能量 is opening its doors to high school students to show them what the animation program is like. Students are going to step into another world with the 黑料正能量 animation summer camp.
